Code of Conduct

Australian Neutron Beam User Group (ANBUG)

The present code of conduct applies at any events organised by the Australian Neutron Beam User Group (ANBUG).

ANBUG is dedicated to providing a positive, respectful experience for everyone at any events organised, regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, socio-economic background or religion.  We welcome diversity and recognise that our events are better for it.  We want to provide an environment that is respectful, professional and welcoming to all.  All ANBUG members are asked to show courtesy and respect towards other members, be accepting of different viewpoints and to be constructive in any feedback.

Harassment or bullying in any form will not be tolerated at any time during ANBUG events, including social events.  Harassment includes, but is not limited to, behaviour such as offensive verbal or written comments (related to age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion), sexual references, language and images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, harassing photography, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention and includes harassment by electronic and social media.  Participants asked to stop behaviour considered as harassing are expected to comply immediately.  Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the organisers or equivalent delegate.

If participants experience any inappropriate behaviour or notice that someone else is, they are asked to contact any of the event organisers or ANBUG executive members immediately.

ANBUG thank the Australian Colloid and Interface Society for allowing them to use their code of conduct as the basis for the present one.
